Accents Aren’t Just for Your Home’s Interior

Let’s say you’re planning on updating your home’s exterior color (in accordance with your orlando painting quality with great serviceneighborhood regulations, of course). You take a look at your neighbors’ homes nearby and notice that most of them consist of a solid color, besides white trim around window frames. Thinking that you can only pick one color for your home, you spend days stewing over the perfect shade; do you choose sandy beige or deep ocean blue? The fact of the matter is, you can choose both!

The Orlando painting team at New Ceilings wants to encourage homeowners to get creative with their exterior painting schemes. You’re never confined to just one color, and with the right palette, you’ll transform your home into a vision worthy of a magazine cover. Here are just a few ways to use accents on your home’s exterior:

  • Shutters and window frames. Although shutters aren’t as common in Central Florida as they are in, say, the Northeastern states, many older homes in historical areas still have these quaint wood accents. Paint them or your window frames a bright, contrasting color for a real pop, or paint them bright white against a dark color for a polished look.
  • Front door. Previously, we wrote up a guide to help you pick the perfect color for your front door. The trend of painting the front door certainly hasn’t died down in popularity, and now is the perfect time to get yours painted. It’s good to keep your door color in the same palette as the rest of your home, but if your home is a neutral, you can paint your door just about any color of the rainbow.
  • Sectioned panels. Some homes have different sections of panels, in the attic area or above the door, separated by trim. You can use these sections as accent areas, painting them a complementary color to the rest of your home. Just don’t pick a section that’s too big, or the result will come off clownish. Try a bright teal against a natural brown home, or a deep plum against light grey.

At New Ceilings, we believe that 2017 is the year homeowners will get creative with their homes’ exteriors. Why not make the outside of your home look just as gorgeous as the inside?
